<p>The article presents a phenomenological and clinical analysis of time experience in conditions of penitentiary isolation. Based on the philosophical distinction between chronos (quantitative, measurable time) and kairos (qualitative, eventful moment), temporal disorders underlying psychopathological phenomena in incarcerated individuals are examined. It is shown that the prison environment is characterized by hypertrophy of chronos with systematic elimination of kairos, leading to loss of eventfulness and temporal disintegration. Clinical manifestations of kairos deficit are described: derealization syndromes, depressive symptomatology, and disturbances of future orientation. Special attention is paid to the phenomenology of solitary confinement as the most radical form of temporal deprivation. Compensatory strategies developed by prisoners to artificially create eventfulness are identified. Ethical implications of prison time for penitentiary psychiatry are discussed. The conclusion is drawn about the necessity of restoring the patient’s ability to experience time eventfully as an important task for the clinician</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>temporality</kwd><kwd>solitary confinement</kwd><kwd>derealization</kwd><kwd>depression</kwd><kwd>phenomenology</kwd><kwd>existential analysis</kwd><kwd>chronos</kwd><kwd>kairos</kwd><kwd>penitentiary psychiatry</kwd><kwd>time experience</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>хронос</kwd><kwd>кайрос</kwd><kwd>пенитенциарная психиатрия</kwd><kwd>переживание времени</kwd><kwd>темпоральность</kwd><kwd>одиночное заключение</kwd><kwd>дереализация</kwd><kwd>депрессия</kwd><kwd>феноменология</kwd><kwd>экзистенциальный анализ</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Bergmann G.
