<p>The relevance of the study is due to the rapid introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into various spheres of public relations and the absence in Russian legislation of an effective mechanism for distributing civil liability for harm caused by the actions of such systems. The purpose of the study is to determine the circle of persons acting assubjects of a civil offense when using AI, to identify the limits of their liability and to develop proposals for improving legislation. The scientific novelty of the study consists in substantiating an integrated approach to characterizing AI as a complex digital asset that combines the properties of a computer program, database and algorithm, aswell as in developing a differentiated model for distributing responsibility between the developer, operator and owner of the AIsystem. The result of the study is a proposal to enshrine Article 1064.1 in the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, establishing special grounds for liability for harm caused by AI, aswell as the adoption of the Federal Law «On Digital Rights», which defines the legal status of AI as a complex digital asset</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>искусственный интеллект</kwd><kwd>гражданско-правовая ответственность</kwd><kwd>автоном ныесистемы</kwd><kwd>цифровые активы</kwd><kwd>источник повышенной опасности</kwd><kwd>экспериментальные правовые режимы</kwd><kwd>возмещение вреда</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>artificial intelligence</kwd><kwd>civil liability</kwd><kwd>autonomous systems</kwd><kwd>digital assets</kwd><kwd>source of increased danger</kwd><kwd>experimental legal regimes</kwd><kwd>compensation for damage</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Антонов А.А.
