<p>The article examines issues of legal liability for the creation, dissemination and use of synthetic media – deepfakes and artificially generated (cloned) voices in the context of rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies. The relevance of the topic is driven by the growth of deepfakes online and the associated risks of citizens’ rights violations, disinformation and fraud. The current state of legal regulation in Russia and abroad (EU, USA, China) is analyzed, gaps in legislation and lawenforcement are identified. Based on leading scholars’ research and foreign experience, measures are proposed to improve Russian legislation – including introducing a legal definition of deepfake, obligations to label synthetic content, and establishing liability for itsmalicious use</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дипфейк</kwd><kwd>синтетический голос</kwd><kwd>искусственный интеллект</kwd><kwd>правовое регулиро вание</kwd><kwd>ответственность</kwd><kwd>дезинформация</kwd><kwd>законодательство России</kwd><kwd>зарубежный опыт</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>deepfake</kwd><kwd>synthetic voice</kwd><kwd>artificial intelligence</kwd><kwd>legal regulation</kwd><kwd>liability</kwd><kwd>disinformation</kwd><kwd>Russian legislation</kwd><kwd>foreign experience</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Г азета.Ru.
